New YouTube Partner Program Policies
YPP or YouTube Partner Program in Indonesian YouTube Partner Program, what is YPP? YPP is an advertising service or program that can be used by YouTube Creators to make money by activating the monetization feature on their YouTube channel with certain conditions.
One of the requirements to be able to activate the ad features on the YouTube channel is to have at least 100 subscribers, but that is an old rule. Right on January 17, 2018 I got the latest update from YouTube Creators via email that the terms and conditions for activating the monetization feature have changed. Today we announce changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). While our goal is to keep YPP open to as many channels as possible, we recognize we need more security in place to protect the creator’s entire YouTube revenue.
Under the new requirements announced today, the YouTube channel, kevirite, no longer qualifies for monetization because it does not meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watch time in the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. As a result, your channel will lose access to all monetization tools and features related to the YouTube Partner Program on February 20, 2018 unless you exceed this limit within the next 30 days. As such, this email serves as a 30-day notice that your YouTube Partner Program term has been terminated.
One of YouTube’s core values is to give people the opportunity to earn money from developing channels. Creators who have not yet reached this new threshold can continue to benefit from our Creator Academy, our Help Center, and all the resources on Site Creators grow their channel. Once your channel reaches a new threshold, it will be reviewed to ensure it complies with our policies and guidelines, and if so, monetization will be reactivated.

Based on the update above we can see that to be able to display ads on YouTube channels, you must have a minimum of 1000 subscribers and watch time of 4000 hours in the last 12 months.
The old terms and conditions for being able to display ads on YouTube are 100 subscribers and 10000 views. Of course with this update we will be more difficult to be able to use the monitize feature on YouTube, but for video creators who are really serious about creating original video content this will have no effect. Because we know that videos on YouTube are very easy to download and re-upload, so many videos with the same content.
With this new announcement regarding the youtube partner program update, it is hoped that every YouTube creator or YouTube can give or upload original videos so that the impact on advertisers can be maximized.
